For
children with burn injuries, stares and questions are a part
of daily life. But each year, many of these children enjoy
a week at Camp I-Thonka-Chi, Parkland’s
annual summer camp for children with burn injuries. For many,
camp becomes the one place where they can just be themselves.
Since
1992, Parkland's burn camp has helped hundreds of children
and teenagers build friendships, improve social skills and
become more confident. But when asked, most campers say they
are there to just to have fun. It's appropriate
that our camp's name is I-Thonka-Chi, a Choctaw phrase
meaning "a
place that makes one strong or fearless, not afraid to face
life."
The camp
is supported solely by donations and volunteers. If you are

Camp is
held each year at Camp John Marc in Meridian, Texas. For more
